Pakistan Has Only 15 Days of Petrol Reserves Left, Oil Companies Seek Urgent Govt Measures

Pakistan’s oil companies have warned that the country could face a petrol shortage if immediate action is not taken to improve fuel supplies.

The Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) has informed the government that petrol reserves have dropped to very low levels.

According to the council, the current petrol stock is enough to meet the country’s needs for only about 15 days. It has urged the authorities to take quick steps to avoid any disruption in fuel availability.

The council explained that several issues are affecting the fuel supply chain. These include delays in the arrival of imported fuel shipments, slow customs clearance at ports, increasing fuel demand, and financial difficulties faced by oil companies. If these problems continue, they could lead to shortages at petrol pumps across the country.

The oil industry has asked the government to speed up the import process so that fuel shipments can reach the market without unnecessary delays. It has also requested the authorities to clear outstanding payments, saying that financial support is important to maintain regular fuel imports and stable supplies.

Industry representatives believe that taking timely action can help prevent a fuel crisis and ensure that petrol remains available across Pakistan. They have stressed the importance of close coordination between government departments and oil companies to keep the supply chain running smoothly.

So far, the government has not issued a detailed response to the concerns raised by the OCAC. However, the industry hopes that the relevant authorities will address these issues quickly to avoid any impact on consumers, businesses, and transportation services.

The situation continues to be closely monitored as officials and oil companies work to ensure a stable fuel supply throughout the country.
