An unexploded missile was found during excavation work at a residential plot in Islamabad’s I-9 area, leading to a quick emergency response from authorities.
The object was discovered while construction work was in progress on the plot. As soon as workers noticed the suspicious item, they informed the relevant authorities. In response, teams from the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and Rescue 1122 reached the location to assess the situation.
The emergency teams immediately secured the area to ensure the safety of workers, nearby residents, and the public. They carefully examined the object to determine whether it posed any danger. After a detailed inspection, officials confirmed that the missile was inoperative and did not present an immediate threat.
Once the inspection was completed, the unexploded missile was safely taken into custody and handed over to the relevant security agencies. The authorities will carry out further investigation to determine the origin of the projectile and how it ended up at the construction site.
The discovery attracted the attention of local residents, who gathered near the area as emergency teams carried out their work. However, officials assured the public that the situation had been fully controlled and there was no cause for panic.
Authorities also appreciated the quick response of the workers who reported the object instead of attempting to move it. They reminded the public that if anyone finds a suspicious object, they should stay away from it and immediately inform the police or emergency services.
The incident ended without any injuries or damage, and officials confirmed that all necessary safety measures were taken to protect the surrounding area while the object was safely removed.
