Mobile App introduced for BRT Peshawar by KP

On Thursday, Shah Muhammad, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) on Transport, launched Zu Peshawar’s Mobile Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) application. SACM, while commenting on the development, added that smart access to BRT services is intended to provide commuters with maximum convenience.

Furthermore, the SACM reported that the Smartphone app of TransPeshawar BRT is the first of its kind in Pakistan, with its user-friendly interface designed to provide users with easy access to different service features. Characteristics include:

  • Ability to schedule a voyage
  • Credit Zu with the wallet Zu
  • Simple top-up, easy top-up
  • Bus schedule in real-time
  • Nearby Bicycle Station Location
  • Access to the history of travel
  • Payments of fares via mobile devices

The SACM urged the public to use the app as it would also help stop COVID-19 from a more destructive 2nd wave. The BRT project has been very well received by the public, he said.

A government spokesperson recently announced that the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service is used every day by more than 130,000 passengers and has been used by more than 8 million people since its introduction.

He added that over 600,000 Zu cards have been distributed among its users since the launch of the service, of which 400,000 have been distributed for free. He said the figures show that the BRT service is a big success.
