Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to take on a new role away from football. The Portugal and Al Nassr star is set to make his scripted acting debut in a new television drama called Day 1s. The series is based around the business side of British football and the high-pressure world of football agents.
Ronaldo will not only appear on screen but will also serve as an executive producer. The project is being made by UR-Marv Studios, a production company he co-founded with British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn. Day 1s is the first television series from the studio, and filming is already underway in London.
The drama will feature actor Damian Lewis in the lead role as Stanley Dalton, a fictional high-profile football agent. Football legend Thierry Henry, the former Arsenal and France striker, is also expected to appear, adding another well-known name from the sport to the cast.
British rapper Dave and new actress Carlotta Banat are also part of the cast. Filming has already started at Barnet FC’s stadium in London.
The idea came from real football agent Darren Dein. The show will show the deals, pressure, and power games that happen behind the scenes, not just the matches on the pitch.
Ronaldo, now 41, said it is an exciting new chapter as he looks at his life after retirement.
