Back Again! Pakistan Stock Exchange Soars as KSE-100 Jumps 2,708 Points

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) started the week on a strong note. On Monday, the benchmark KSE-100 Index closed at 178,200 points, gaining more than 2,100 points, or about 1.2 percent.

The index increased by almost 2,900 points during the day before declining. Banks, cement, oil and gas, and power corporations were among the important industries where widespread purchasing was observed.

The rally came as global oil prices fell and hopes of lower tensions in the Middle East increased. US President Donald Trump said talks with Iran would begin, easing fears of a wider conflict. Lower oil prices also improved investor confidence.

Analysts said better market sentiment and positive economic signals supported the gains. Strong participation from institutional investors also helped the market rise. The previous week had already seen the index recover more than 5,000 points after falling for three weeks.

While the strong start is encouraging, experts say volatility may continue. Investors will closely watch corporate earnings results and any new policy announcements. If the positive trend holds, the KSE-100 could move closer to the 179,000 level in the coming sessions.
