akistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has sealed an illegal pharmaceutical production and storage facility in Rawat, near Islamabad. The raid was part of a wider crackdown on counterfeit and substandard medicines.
FIA’s Anti-Corruption Circle carried out the operation after receiving intelligence about unauthorised manufacturing. Officers recovered large quantities of finished products, including 14,961 tablets, 20,900 bottles of syrup, 4,630 tubes of cream, and 500 injections of various brands.
They also seized about 1.5 million empty capsule shells, more than 66,000 empty bottles, over 1,000 kilograms of raw materials, packaging supplies, and manufacturing equipment. Officials found clear violations of standard storage and distribution rules.
The agency said the facility was producing and storing unsafe medicines that could harm public health. Counterfeit drugs remain a serious problem in Pakistan, as they often lack proper ingredients or contain harmful substances.
FIA stated that the raid is part of ongoing efforts to stop the illegal drug trade and make sure only safe, properly regulated medicines reach people. Further investigation is continuing, and legal action will be taken against those involved.
