Harvard Law School Fellowship 2027-28 Offers $60,000 Annual Stipend

Harvard Law School is offering the Reginald F. Lewis Fellowship for Law Teaching 2027-28, an opportunity designed for recent law graduates who are interested in legal scholarship and pursuing careers in law teaching. The fellowship will be based at Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

$60,000 Annual Stipend

Selected fellows will receive an annual stipend of $60,000 and spend the academic year in residence at Harvard Law School. Fellows will also have opportunities to conduct research, develop their academic work, audit courses and participate in workshops at the law school.

Fellowship Duration

The 2027-28 fellowship is scheduled to run from July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2028. During the fellowship, participants are expected to develop a substantial research and writing project, including at least one major article for publication.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be recent law graduates and hold a J.D., LL.M., or S.J.D. degree at the time of application. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in legal scholarship, an intention to pursue law teaching, and a clear research and writing project suitable for development during the fellowship.

  • A comprehensive CV or resume
  • A research and writing project description of up to four pages
  • A statement of interest in law teaching and legal scholarship of up to four pages
  • Copies of academic transcripts
  • Two letters of reference addressing their potential as legal scholars and law teachers
