Bilateral trade between Pakistan and the United States exceeded $8 billion in 2025, showing the growing importance of economic ties between the two countries. US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker shared the figure during her recent visit to Lahore, where she met government officials, business leaders and technology experts.
Official US trade data shows that goods trade alone reached $8.7 billion in 2025. US exports to Pakistan stood at $3.3 billion, while imports from Pakistan reached $5.4 billion. This gave the United States a $2.1 billion goods trade deficit with Pakistan.
Pakistan’s exports to the US are led by textiles and apparel, which remain an important source of foreign exchange for the country. The US is also Pakistan’s largest single export market.
During Baker’s Lahore visit on August 11 and 12, discussions focused on expanding trade and investment, along with cooperation in artificial intelligence, higher education and innovation.
