Supreme Court Orders Transfer of PTI Founder to Shifa International Hospital

The Supreme Court has directed authorities to move PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.

A three-member bench ordered that strict security arrangements be maintained throughout his stay at the hospital. The court also directed the formation of a medical board to assess his condition and oversee his treatment.

Authorities have been instructed to provide Khan’s complete medical records to the board. His sister, Dr Uzma Khan, and his personal physician will also be permitted to take part in the medical assessment.

The court has additionally asked authorities to provide information about Khan’s meetings with family members and his communication with his sons.

Security around the hospital was also a key concern during the proceedings. The Supreme Court stressed that law and order must be maintained outside the medical facility while ensuring appropriate security measures during Khan’s treatment.

The directions are aimed at ensuring that Khan receives proper medical attention while maintaining the necessary security arrangements around the hospital.

The transfer and court-ordered medical assessment are expected to remain closely watched as authorities implement the Supreme Court’s instructions regarding his treatment, medical records, family access and security.
