A Turkish-American researcher has reported a potentially unusual discovery beneath Turkey’s Durupinar formation, an area that has long attracted attention because some researchers and religious communities have associated its distinctive shape with the biblical account of Noah’s Ark.
Dr. Khusro Bakhtiar reportedly used radar technology known as “Bakhtiar Radar” to survey the site. According to his team, the scans appeared to reveal a boat-like pattern or what they believe may be an underground man-made structure beneath the surface.
The findings have renewed interest in the long-running debate over whether the Durupinar formation could contain evidence of an ancient vessel.
However, the claim has not been independently confirmed. Geologists and other experts have previously argued that the Durupinar formation is a natural geological feature created through erosion and other geological processes.
The radar images alone cannot establish that the structure is artificial or that it is connected to Noah’s Ark.
Bakhtiar’s team is reportedly planning additional excavation, scanning and scientific analysis to determine whether the suspected underground features have a natural or human-made origin.
Any potential connection to the biblical Ark would require substantial physical evidence, independent verification and peer-reviewed scientific research.
For now, the discovery remains an intriguing but unverified claim. Further investigation will be necessary before conclusions can be drawn about the nature, age or historical significance of any structure beneath the Durupinar formation.
