Ahsan Iqbal Predicts Pakistan Will Become a$1 Trillion Economy in 10 Years

Pakistan is aiming to build a $1 trillion economy by 2035, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said, emphasizing that the ambition is not simply about reaching a specific GDP figure but about creating a stronger, more productive and sustainable economy.

Under the government’s URAAN Pakistan framework, key priorities include digital transformation, energy, infrastructure, climate resilience, human capital development and greater economic equity.

Iqbal also stressed the importance of strengthening “Made in Pakistan” through improved quality, innovation and global competitiveness.

He called for greater investment in AI, advanced manufacturing, agriculture and technology, while highlighting policy continuity and stronger public-private partnerships as essential for long-term economic transformation.
