Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi inaugurated the newly developed 702-kanal Abbottabad Park, marking a significant addition to the city’s recreational and public facilities.
The park has been completed at a cost of Rs. 1.47 billion and is designed to provide residents with accessible spaces for recreation, fitness, relaxation and outdoor activities.
The facility includes six walking tracks, 30 gazebos, a 365-metre zip line, a cricket ground, a dedicated children’s play area, a mosque and parking facilities.
These features are intended to create a family-friendly environment where people can spend time outdoors and participate in healthy recreational activities.
Environmental considerations have also been incorporated into the project. Around 7,000 of the planned 13,000 trees have already been planted, while officials stated that no trees were cut during the park’s construction.
The park is expected to benefit nearly 1.9 million people, providing families, children, fitness enthusiasts and visitors with opportunities for exercise, leisure and positive social interaction.
The development is being viewed as an effort to expand green and recreational spaces in Abbottabad while promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle for the community.
