More than half of the students who appeared in the 9th class exams under the Lahore Board have failed, according to the 2026 results announced on September 2.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore reported that 280,676 students appeared in the SSC Part-I annual examination. Out of them, 130,543 students passed, giving an overall pass rate of 46.51%. This means around 150,133 students, or 53.5%, could not pass the exams.
The exams were held from April 17 to May 8, 2026. A total of 287,597 candidates had registered for the examination.
Female students performed better than male students. The pass rate for female candidates was 54.62%, compared with 37.08% for male candidates. Regular candidates also performed better, with a pass rate of 53.57%, while private candidates recorded 33.84%.
Students can check their results through the official BISE Lahore result system using their roll number. Candidates can also apply for paper rechecking within 15 days of the result announcement.
