A Pakistani citizen has allegedly lost Rs. 9 million after paying an agent who promised to arrange a UK work visa and overseas employment, according to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The promised employment reportedly never materialised, while the individual allegedly failed to receive the visa despite making a substantial payment. The money was also reportedly not returned, prompting the victim to approach authorities for legal action.
The FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle has arrested a suspect in connection with the case. Investigators are now examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged transaction and the promises made to the victim, while further investigation remains underway.
The case highlights the financial risks faced by individuals seeking employment opportunities abroad, particularly when dealing with agents or intermediaries who make claims about overseas jobs and visa arrangements.
