AirSial has become Pakistan’s second-largest airline by fleet size after adding its 12th aircraft, strengthening its position in the country’s growing private aviation market.
The Sialkot-based airline received another Airbus A320 at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport earlier this week following an international ferry flight. The aircraft will be used on AirSial’s domestic and international routes. Recent fleet data also lists 12 Airbus A320 aircraft for the airline.
With 12 aircraft, AirSial has moved ahead of Airblue, which has 11 planes, according to the latest available fleet figures. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) remains the country’s largest airline by fleet size, with 32 aircraft.
AirSial was established by members of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry and began flight operations in December 2020. The airline initially focused on domestic connectivity but has since expanded its international network.
The airline has also signed agreements for further fleet expansion. AirSial announced plans to add more Airbus A320 aircraft, with its longer-term expansion expected to increase its fleet further.
