MG Pakistan is moving forward with plans to export locally assembled vehicles to Bangladesh, with full-scale exports expected to begin in 2027.
As part of the initial process, the company is scheduled to send two completely knocked-down (CKD) sample units to Bangladesh in September 2026. The vehicles will undergo local testing and approval before commercial exports begin.
The plan follows an earlier agreement under which MG Pakistan announced intentions to export 5,000 vehicles to Bangladesh.
The proposed exports could give Pakistan’s automotive industry access to another regional market and provide manufacturers with an opportunity to expand beyond domestic demand.
If the export programme progresses as planned, it could also benefit local vehicle assembly operations and parts suppliers by creating additional demand linked to international sales.
The move comes as Pakistan continues efforts to increase exports and develop greater opportunities for locally manufactured products in overseas markets. Bangladesh could provide an important destination for Pakistani-assembled vehicles, particularly as manufacturers explore markets within the wider region.
The September shipment will serve as an important step in the process, with the outcome of testing and regulatory approval expected to determine the timing of the planned commercial exports in 2027.
The initiative could mark another development for Pakistan’s automotive sector as local manufacturers look to expand their presence in international markets.
