The government has released Rs. 12.2 million in payments to 868 petrol pumps under the Prime Minister’s Petrol Relief Scheme, clearing their claims for September 16.
Under the scheme, registered beneficiaries are eligible to receive Rs. 100 per litre in relief on petrol, providing financial support to consumers affected by high fuel prices.
The digital system for the programme is now operational, allowing eligible beneficiaries to access the subsidy at participating petrol stations across Pakistan.
Around one million people have already registered for the relief programme, highlighting the significant demand for the fuel subsidy.
Authorities have also introduced real-time monitoring mechanisms to track the distribution of subsidised petrol and help ensure that the relief reaches registered beneficiaries through the designated system.
