India’s hopes of receiving the men’s and women’s Asia Cup trophies in the near future appear to have been delayed, with both trophies currently in Pakistan and in the possession of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi.
The trophies are expected to remain in Pakistan for the time being. India’s men’s and women’s teams had previously declined to receive the trophies directly from Naqvi after winning their respective Asia Cup tournaments.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that the trophies will eventually be delivered to its headquarters in Mumbai.
However, the board has not provided a specific timeline for when the trophies will be handed over.
For now, the two Asia Cup trophies remain in Pakistan, while the process for their eventual transfer to India is yet to be confirmed.
