A 52-year-old Datsun 120Y has become one of the unusual attractions at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026 in Lahore, with around 33,000 Pakistani coins fixed across its body.

The 1974 model is owned by 75-year-old Tariq Javed, who shared details about the unique car at the event. According to Javed, the coins, including Rs5 coins, were placed on the car using silicon. Around 20 kilograms of silicon were used to attach the coins.

Javed said the car has about 33,000 coins, with a total face value of around Rs105,000. According to him, the added coins and material now make up the wight of the car to about 160 kilograms.

The car features a map of Pakistan made across its body, giving the unusual display a local touch.

This isn’t Javed’s first coin-covered car. He said he previously created a Chevrolet Camaro covered in coins in Dubai. He now hopes to pursue a Guinness World Record for having two cars covered in coins.
