Pakistan made a strong start to their men’s kabaddi campaign at the 2026 Asian Games, defeating Malaysia 65-22 on Monday, September 21, in Nagoya, Japan.
The match was played at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium, where Pakistan controlled the game from the opening minutes. The national side went into halftime with a 38-11 lead and continued to extend the gap after the break. Pakistan eventually finished with a 43-point winning margin.
Pakistan’s attack and defence kept Malaysia under pressure throughout the match. Malaysia managed four bonus points, while Pakistan also registered a super tackle point.
The victory gives Pakistan an important opening win in Group B. The team will next face Nepal on Tuesday, September 22, at 9:30 am local time, followed by matches against Thailand on September 23 and Iran on September 24.
Pakistan won bronze in the men’s kabaddi competition at the previous three Asian Games. At the 2026 event, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
