Pakistan has the world’s seventh-largest active military force, with around 660,000 active personnel, according to Global Firepower’s 2026 data. This number covers personnel from the Pakistan Army, Air Force and Navy.

According to figures from the International Institute for Strategic Studies, cited by Reuters in July 2026, Pakistan has around 560,000 active Army personnel. The Pakistan Air Force has about 70,000 members, while the Navy has around 30,000, including Marines.
The European Union Agency for Asylum also reported in June 2026 that Pakistan’s total active-duty military strength was estimated at between 650,000 and 660,000. Its report put the Army’s strength at around 550,000 based on December 2025 estimates.
