Lahore Traffic Police have impounded a van after finding a record of 54 traffic violations linked to the vehicle. The driver was issued fines totaling Rs285,000 following a check in the Manga Mandi area.
According to the traffic police, Sector In-charge Shafiq Gujjar stopped the vehicle during enforcement activity. Officials checked its record through the One App and found 54 previous traffic violations. The van was then taken to a police station, while the driver was fined for the outstanding violations.
The action comes as Lahore Traffic Police continue their campaign against vehicles with unpaid e-challans and repeated violations. Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has directed teams to take action against habitual offenders and vehicles with outstanding digital fines.
Lahore uses digital systems and Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras to identify traffic violations. Punjab Police have also reported millions of traffic challans across the province this year, showing the increasing use of technology in traffic enforcement.
Officials have urged motorists to follow traffic rules and clear their fines to avoid further action.
