Islamabad Inspector General of Police Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has announced plans to provide police officers and officials with opportunities to perform Hajj and Umrah through a lucky draw. The initiative is aimed at supporting the welfare of police personnel and recognising their services.
Under the proposed arrangement, eligible officers and officials could be selected through a transparent draw instead of the opportunity being given through personal recommendations. Such schemes have also been used by other public institutions in Pakistan to select employees for Hajj and Umrah.
The announcement comes as the Islamabad Police leadership is focusing on staff welfare along with professional performance. The IGP has previously said that officers who show dedication and strong performance should be recognised and rewarded.
