Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan’s Neftchi Fergana by waving a scarf featuring the Saudi Arabian flag after a security alert delayed their match in Riyadh on Monday, October 12, 2026.
The AFC Champions League Elite match at Al-Awwal Park was postponed by about an hour after Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence issued a warning over a possible missile threat. Players waited in the dressing rooms while spectators remained inside the stadium.
According to reports, Saudi-led coalition forces intercepted two ballistic missiles launched towards Riyadh. Authorities later confirmed that the immediate danger had passed, allowing the match to proceed.
Ronaldo scored Al-Nassr’s second goal shortly before half-time, helping his team secure the win. Angelo Gabriel opened the scoring, while an own goal by Neftchi’s Anvarjon Gofurov completed the result after Alisher Odilov scored for the visitors.
After the final whistle, Ronaldo accepted a green scarf from a supporter, waved it and placed it around his neck as he celebrated with fans.
