Another alleged fraud case involving Rs8.5 million has surfaced against Muhammad Noman, the suspect arrested in connection with the case of International Islamic University Islamabad gold medallist Laiba Ijaz.
According to investigation sources, the separate case was registered in Mansehra. Noman and his alleged accomplices are accused of taking money from a family by promising government jobs for their six children.
The suspects allegedly provided fake appointment letters to the family. After discovering that the documents were forged, the family approached the police and registered a fraud case. Noman reportedly went into hiding and was later declared a proclaimed offender by a court.
The affected family has now approached Islamabad police with the alleged forged documents, according to the report.
Noman was arrested in connection with allegations that Laiba and her family were defrauded of Rs9.3 million over promises of a United States student visa, university admission and scholarship.
The investigation into both cases is ongoing. The allegations have yet to be established through a court verdict.
