“Targeting Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque Visitors Is a Crime”: Saudi Grand Mufti

Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti has stated that targeting visitors to the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina is a crime. The statement highlights the importance of protecting worshippers and visitors at the two sacred sites, which hold special significance for Muslims around the world.

The Grand Mosque, located in Mecca, surrounds the Holy Kaaba, while the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina is closely associated with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Both mosques welcome millions of worshippers and pilgrims throughout the year, particularly during Hajj, Umrah, and the holy month of Ramadan.

The Grand Mufti’s remarks underline the need to respect the sanctity of these religious sites and ensure the safety of those who visit them for worship. Muslims from different countries travel to the two holy cities to perform religious rituals, offer prayers, and strengthen their spiritual connection.
