Over 4.3 Million Foreign Tourists Visited Pakistan in Two Years

Pakistan received more than 4.3 million foreign tourists during 2024 and 2025, according to figures shared by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination in the National Assembly on Friday.

The ministry reported that over 2.1 million foreign visitors arrived in Pakistan in 2024, followed by approximately 2.2 million in 2025. The figures highlight the continued movement of international visitors into the country over the two-year period.

Visitors from Afghanistan accounted for the largest number among the nationalities mentioned, with more than 1.216 million arrivals. The United Kingdom was another major source of visitors, contributing over 1.017 million people during the period.

The United States also accounted for a significant number of arrivals, with more than 500,000 visitors travelling to Pakistan. Meanwhile, around 260,000 visitors came from Iran, while approximately 234,000 arrived from Canada.

The figures reflect the diverse range of countries from which international visitors travelled to Pakistan during the two years. The arrivals included people from neighbouring countries as well as visitors from Europe and North America.

Tourism can contribute to economic activity by supporting hotels, restaurants, transport services, local businesses and other sectors that serve visitors. International travel can also create opportunities for cultural exchange and introduce visitors to Pakistan’s historical sites, natural landscapes and local traditions.

Pakistan has a range of attractions, including mountain destinations in the north, historical landmarks, archaeological sites and cultural centres in major cities. These destinations offer different experiences for international travellers interested in nature, history and local culture.

The latest figures were presented by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination in response to information sought in the National Assembly. The data provides an overview of foreign arrivals during 2024 and 2025, with visitors from Afghanistan, the United Kingdom and the United States representing major portions of the reported figures.

Continued improvements in tourism facilities, transport and visitor services could help the country accommodate international travellers and support further development of the tourism sector.
