Pakistani international footballer Abiha Haider, a two-time Guinness World Record holder and the country’s first female sports lawyer, has received the prestigious Dukhtar-e-Pakistan Award from the Government of Pakistan.
The award was presented during a ceremony in Islamabad to recognise her achievements and contributions to sports, law, education and youth leadership. Her work across different professional fields has made her a notable figure among Pakistani women pursuing careers beyond traditional boundaries.
As an international footballer, Haider has represented Pakistan in the sporting arena and contributed to the growing visibility of women’s football in the country. Her recognition as a two-time Guinness World Record holder has also added to her profile as a Pakistani achiever.
Alongside her sporting career, Haider has made her mark in the legal profession as Pakistan’s first female sports lawyer. Her involvement in both fields reflects her interest in promoting opportunities for athletes and supporting the development of sports through legal knowledge.
Her contributions also extend to education and youth leadership, where she has been associated with efforts to encourage young people to pursue their goals and develop their skills.
Receiving the Dukhtar-e-Pakistan Award recognises her work across these areas and highlights the different ways individuals can contribute to the country. Her journey also draws attention to the increasing participation of Pakistani women in sports, law and other professional sectors.
Women athletes in Pakistan continue to face challenges related to opportunities, resources and representation. The achievements of individuals such as Haider highlight the importance of creating supportive environments where young women can develop their abilities and compete at national and international levels.
Her recognition serves as an example for young Pakistanis interested in sports, education and professional careers. By pursuing multiple fields, Haider has demonstrated how different interests can come together to create opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The award adds another milestone to her journey and recognises her contributions to representing Pakistan and encouraging young people to pursue their ambitions.
