Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has said that Qatar continued supplying gas to Pakistan at $12–$13 instead of the market price of $30, despite the challenges facing the energy sector.
His statement highlighted Qatar’s role in helping Pakistan meet its energy requirements amid supply and pricing pressures.
The minister also revealed that Pakistan’s daily liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) consumption stands at approximately 6,500 to 7,000 tonnes. Of this total, around 2,000 to 2,500 tonnes are produced locally, while the remaining demand is met through imports.
The figures highlight Pakistan’s reliance on imported energy supplies to bridge the gap between domestic production and national consumption.
