PCB Reportedly Demands $25,000 per Pakistani Player in Nepal Premier League

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly sought $25,000 for each Pakistani cricketer participating in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), creating uncertainty over their involvement in the tournament.

According to reports, the PCB has placed previously issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) on hold for several players. These certificates are required for Pakistani cricketers to play in overseas leagues.

People associated with the NPL told ESPNcricinfo that the board had requested payment for each player. However, the report said it could not independently confirm whether the demand had been formally made in writing. The PCB had not publicly responded to the allegation at the time of reporting.

The players affected include Pakistan T20 captain Sahibzada Farhan, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Haider Ali, Hussain Talat, Usama Mir and Hunain Shah.

The eight-team NPL began on October 26 in Kathmandu and is scheduled to run until November 21. The reported dispute could affect team selections and leave franchises uncertain about the availability of their Pakistani players.
