Drinking water supplied to students at 145 government schools in Chiniot has been found contaminated after district-wide testing of public educational institutions.
Samples fail safety standards
The findings emerged from drinking-water checks carried out by the District Research Laboratory. District Research Officer Irshad Ahmed said samples from 145 of the 451 schools examined across the district did not meet safety standards.
Primary schools make up the largest group
The affected schools are spread across different parts of Chiniot district. The breakdown covers three levels of public education:
- 83 primary schools
- 26 elementary schools
- 36 high schools
