PM Imran Khan Assures Toyota Makers Of Help For Cheaper Autos

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday pledged his full support to Indus Motor Company Limited (IMC), which manufactures Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, to ensure that vehicles are available at lower prices in the country, as the company plans to invest $100 million in local production of hybrid electric vehicles.

Prime Minister Imran Khan gave his complete support to Indus Motor Firm Limited (IMC), which manufactures Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, on Wednesday, saying that the company wants to invest $100 million in local production of hybrid electric vehicles.

“We are pleased to announce that, based on the incentives provided by the Government of Pakistan through Finance Act 2021 and subsequent Statutory Regulatory Orders (SROs), the company has evaluated and plans to invest an estimated total of $100 million over the next three years in the local production of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) in Pakistan.

Earlier in the day, Indus Motor Company Limited (IMC), the Pakistani manufacturer of Toyota automobiles, announced a $100 million investment in the local production of hybrid electric vehicles. According to the company’s filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday, the money will be invested over a three-year period.

Imran Khan has urged the relevant authorities to obtain the largest possible proportion of the international vehicle export market for Pakistan.
