The board of the Public-Private Partnership Authority (P3A) has approved the bid documents for the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway Project, which is expected to cost around Rs 191 billion and be built under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
On a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis, the project comprises the building of a 306 km green-field 6-lane access-controlled toll road. Following financial close, the project is projected to be finished in 30 months. The project’s concession tenure will last for 25 years.
The permission came during a board meeting on Friday, which was chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar. The P3A Board previously approved a commercial feasibility assessment for the Sukkur Hyderabad Motorway project and amended the transaction structure.
According to a statement released by the ministry, the project will be floated in the market when the Board approves the bid documents, and bidders would be given ample time to submit their offers. The Public-Private Partnership Working Party (P3WP) Regulations for 2021 were also adopted by the Board.
