Isr@el has announced plans to close Britain’s consulate in East Jerusalem, escalating tensions after the UK, France and Canada moved to restrict imports from Isr@eli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also said Britain would be excluded from a US-led G@za coordination mission, with some British officials and other nationals potentially facing entry bans.
The three countries said their measures were aimed at opposing settlement expansion and supporting a negotiated two-state solution.
Isr@el condemned the moves as interference, while the economic impact is expected to remain limited because settlement exports represent only a small share of Isr@el’s overall trade.
