The National Quran Board was established to ensure that the ‘Holy Quran’ be published without errors

All parties have agreed to establish a Quran Board for the publication of an error-free Holy Book, according to Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sahibzada Noorul Haq Qadri.

The minister told the reporters during the meeting of the Nationwide Assembly Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony that the initiative sought to ensure accurate and precise printing of the Holy Quran on a national level.

A bill to alter the Publication of the Holy Quran (Elimination of Printing and Recording Errors) Act, 1973, was overwhelmingly passed by the Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony earlier this year. The committee was told that there was no national-level department for protecting and standardising the printing of the Holy Quran, which was chaired by Member of National Assembly Asad Mahmood.

The body emphasized the importance of forming a national Quran Board for this sacred purpose. It was also said that there was no rule prohibiting the recycling of old Quran pages while maintaining their sacredness. The bill would ensure that old pages of the sacred book are recycled in a respectful and appropriate manner.
