While Netflix has increased its rates in New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Spain, it has decreased its prices in Pakistan. The price of the Standard and Premium plans has been reduced by Rs 400.
The Standard plan is now Rs 800 per month, and the Premium plan is now Rs 1,100 per month. Previously, the plans were Rs 1500 and Rs 1200, respectively. Netflix’s decision is motivated by a desire to grow its subscriber base in the region.
Netflix revealed last month that it would be providing a free mobile service in Kenya, hoping to capitalise on the country’s 20 million internet users. Users will be able to sign up for the plan for free, and it will feature advertisements.
In order to attract subscribers, Netflix has experimented with varied price packages in different regions, particularly in developing countries. One example is the mobile plans available in India and Pakistan.
