On Wednesday, the federal cabinet was informed that Pakistan has the lowest pricing in South Asia for critical products.
“With the exception of vegetable ghee, all necessary products are cheaper in Pakistan than elsewhere in the region,” Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said during a press conference after attending a federal cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He said “Vegetable ghee is expensive, but everything else is inexpensive in the country,” the minister remarked. “It’s encouraging to see that Pakistani costs are lower than those in neighboring nations like India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka”. Mr Chaudhry criticized the Sindh government for the country’s high wheat flour prices, claiming that the province’s leadership is unable to control inflation.
