Prime Minister Imran Khan referenced World Bank data indicating that the country’s poverty line will fall in the fiscal year 2020-21.
Imran Khan announced on Twitter from his personal account that poverty incidence has reduced to 4.8 percent in FY21 from 5.3 percent in FY20, according to World Bank estimates based on an international poverty level of $1.90 PPP 2011 per day.
Prime Minister Imran Khan posted a Tweet on October 1 to applaud the country on the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) “success” of Rs1,395 billion in tax collection during first quarter of the current fiscal year.
It is likely to fall further to 4.0 percent by FY23, according to him. “This is the result of our productivity-led growth plans to create jobs,” the premier explained.
