Utility stores increase prices of Ghee, cooking oil as PM Imran Khan announces relief package.

The Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan (USCP) reversed its decision to raise the prices of ghee and cooking oil just hours after issuing a notification to do so.

The USCP representative stated in the announcement that the rates were raised because commodities manufacturers raised their prices.

The rate of ghee, cooking oil, and other subsidised commodities, however, will stay unchanged in the interests of the people, according to the spokesperson.

Cooking oil of various brands had been increased up to Rs65 per litre at Utility Stores, according to a notification previously issued in this regard, while the price of ghee had been increased up to Rs53 per kg.
