Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh and Asad Umar, the federal planning and development minister of Pakistan pledged recently to set aside their political conflicts and differences and to work together for the boost and uplift of Karachi; the differences between the Centre and the Sindh remained on various issues according to Asad Umer.
Both were addressing in a joint press conference right after a meeting with Karachi Coordination Committee, in the meeting the federal minister and the CM of Sindh resolved the issue by discussing to clean nullahs in metropolis as soon as possible like before the onset of upcoming monsoon season.
CM while speaking to the media person said that in the larger interest for the city of lights “Karachi,” we have kept aside all the political conflicts and our difference and are ready to sit together along with the political party PTI- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and also with MQM- Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan just to chalk out our plan to develop this city and to make it clean and one of the most beautiful as well as livable cities of the world.
While announcing that the authorities have planned to clean up the nullahs before the upcoming monsoon season, he also elaborated that storm water drains of the city, by including the three major ones, that are namely Mehmoodabad Nullah, Gujjar Nullah, and Orangi Nullah, along with the networks of main Malir Rivers and Lyari were being restructured.
Meanwhile, he further stated that the other projects that are undertaken by the provincial and federal and government to transform the city ‘Karachi’ includes the installations of the sewage treatment of plants, K-IV bulk water project, the construction and repair of the road networks, bus rapid transit projects, Karachi Circular Railway and Malir Expressway.
Asad Umar, the Federal Planning and Development Minister while speaking on the occasion also said that the public of Karachi always looked towards the elected representatives of the Government to address their problems and issue and just for this main reason we have brushed aside our political conflicts and political differences and have joined our hands for the betterment and development of Karachi!
He also told the media person that National Disaster Management Authority had already engaged itself with Frontier Works Organization and these bodies had also mobilized the machineries to start with the uplifting work.
Umar also said that I want to restate that we have several other things to do on the basis of politics but as far as this uplift of Karachi is concerned, we will work together. Both the CM and the Federal Minister also discussed about the developmental measures. However, he added that, if the Sindh government files any reference against their move in apex court, it may regain the hospital’s control.
