Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain, has set a new record for most fifties and centuries in international cricket in the calendar year 2021.
The 27-year-old batsman hit three centuries and 13 fifties throughout the year, according to a cricket portal. He scored his most recent fifty against Bangladesh in the second Test match of the series.
With two hundreds and 12 fifties this year, Azam is followed by Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwa.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli of India are in third and fourth place, respectively, while Aiden Markram of South Africa is in fifth place.
Sharma scored two centuries and nine fifties, compared to Kohli’s ten fifties.
