Drone Startup, SuperStellar conducts Pakistan’s first drone light show for Engro Fertilizers

Since 2019, SuperStellar Technologies has been an Islamabad-based startup working on drone technology. Their first product aims to revolutionize the worldwide visual entertainment market. Coordinated displays of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones) with unique LEDs that illuminate the night sky with beautiful patterns are Drone Light shows. Recently, for Engro Fertilizers in Sindh, they performed Pakistan’s first ever Drone Light show that left audiences spellbound and awestruck.

The company strives to be a global drone technology company and is presently working on various drone-based applications, such as cargo solutions and, to name a few, agricultural swarm solutions. They are currently employed at the NUST H-12 National Science and Technology Park, which PM Imran Khan inaugurated in 2020.

Talking to one of the co-founders, we heard that the concept emerged when, due to the noise of fireworks outside his window, one of the founding members had trouble studying. The team believes that due to significantly lower carbon footprint and acoustic signature, drone light shows will replace fireworks soon. Muhammad Ali, the CEO is a PhD candidate who is studying artificial intelligence and machine learning at University College London. The team consists of highly qualified engineers with over 17 years of cumulative experience in UAV and Design Software Technologies.

It is heartening to note that after seeing unparalleled success in the tech industry, the Pakistani startup ecosystem is now moving towards hardware-based products.
