KPK Govt. to Introduce Billion Dry Fruits Project

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has planned to launch the Billion Dry Fruits Project, following the Billion Tree Tsunami and Billion Honey Schemes.

Governor KP Shah Farman will supervise the project. Shah Farman, underlining the importance of the project, said that the Billion Dry Fruits Project will increase the income of people living in the province’s tribal districts and will bring about a major revolution.

To increase the production of the dry fruits under the project, saplings will be planted. The department of agriculture has been directed to launch the Billion Dry Fruits Project in the near future.

Under the project, seven types of honey will produce one million hectares of Pakistan’s forests. In comparison, honey production will grow from 12,000 metric tonnes to 70,000 metric tonnes.

Pakistan will be able to export to various countries honey worth Rs 45 billion annually.

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan initiated the Billion Tree Tsunami Honey Project last year.

Previously, the Billion Tree Tsunami project of Prime Minister Imran Khan received international praise after global environmental organizations described his efforts for a better environment as exemplary for other global leaders.

The letter was read out by PM Climate Change Advisor Malik Amin Aslam during the cabinet meeting. Representatives of climate change organizations wrote it in the US, France and Paris.
