Usman Buzdar, Punjab’s Chief Minister, has stated that a 32 percent job quota in the provincial government will be reserved for the South Punjab region.
At a press conference in Bhakkar, the chief minister said that a proposal to include Mianwali in South Punjab was being considered, and that the job quota in government employment would then be enhanced to 35 percent.
“I will transform the fate of the people of the province’s underprivileged areas,” he declared, claiming to be the legitimate representative of such communities in Lahore.
He added that Prime Minister Imran Khan would shortly open a South Punjab secretariat in Bahawalpur. Usman Buzdar stated that the budget for uplift projects was increased by a record 66 percent for the first time, adding that no one could question the province’s budget’s openness.
