A team of Pakistani and foreign climbers will attempt to climb the world’s second highest mountain, K2 without oxygen to set a world record, days after a Nepalese team scaled the peak for the first time in winter.
The announcement was made by Muhammad Ali Sadpara, a noted Pakistani climber.
“By achieving the milestone of climbing the top peak without oxygen, we will make our country proud,” the mountaineer said, adding that while their task was challenging, but not impossible.
Without oxygen, Muhammad Ali Sadpara said he would try his best to climb the second highest peak in the world. “It’s a very ambitious plan, and the circumstances aren’t easy, but we’re positive and ready.”
Muhammad Ali Sadpara said that we are embarking on the task of summiting the mountain and the team will include me, my son Sajid Sadpara and John Snorri. He also asked the whole nation to pray for their progress.
