Saima Mohsin has recently become the first Muslim woman attorney for Michigan’s Eastern District, where is appointed as an acting US attorney.
On 2nd February, this 52-years-old woman attorney will soon be going to take a charge by replacing the person who has been working for 3 year at this position, Matthew Schneider. Schneider recently announced about his resignation as in last week and also announced that Saima Mohsin, who is currently an assistant US first attorney for the eastern Michigan, will soon replace him.
Saima as a Pakistan born has been working in the US since 2002 as a federal prosecutor in the office of US Attorney. She has a law degree and a bachelor’s degrees as she studies in New Jersey’s university, name Rutgers University.
She in the New York City became an assistant district attorney and then later worked in a Division of Criminal Justice for a state of New Jersey. In 2018, she assumed the position as the first assistant in US attorney for Eastern District of Michigan, that is a nonpolitical position, as per the Justice Department. However, now she is going to serve her duties as the first Muslim federal prosecutor in the Detroit.
