More than a dozen hotels in Punjab’s resort town of Murree have been closed by the government for overcharging tourists after a devastating snowstorm last week.
The deputy commissioner of Rawalpindi confirmed the news on Twitter.
After social media users aired their fury for overcharging and other violations, the Assistant Commissioner of Murree blocked hotels on Kuldana Road, Upper Jhika Gali Road, Bank Road, and Abu Dhabi Road, he claimed.
On Saturday, at least 23 individuals died of cold and asphyxiation at the country’s most popular tourist destination.
