Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security, with military spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry saying the country is ready to take necessary steps to protect the kingdom.
In an interview with CNN, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations said Pakistan’s forces had been present in Saudi Arabia for decades and had experience across different military fields. He also stressed that the defence partnership between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye was intended to protect the kingdom and the holy sites in Makkah and Madinah.
The statement comes as Saudi Arabia faces rising security threats linked to attacks claimed by Yemen’s Houthi movement. Pakistan has also strengthened its defence cooperation with Saudi Arabia through agreements that focus on mutual security.
Chaudhry said the Makkah Defence Alliance was defensive in nature and aimed at regional peace and stability. The three countries are working to turn their commitments into practical military cooperation.
