PSL 7 kicks off tomorrow (Jan 27), and the Prime Minister has already given his blessing.
Teasers, anthems, and brand ambassador announcements have been made by the teams, but many believe the PSL has the best ambassador of all: Prime Minister Imran Khan.
With the description “PM Imran Khan’s message on the PSL” and the hashtag # LevelHai, the PTI tweeted a video of the PM introducing the tournament two days before it officially began.
The video shows Ramiz Raja, PM Imran’s former teammate and current PCB Chairman, strolling slowly towards him with dramatic music playing in the background on his way to see the PM and make the opening announcement.
“I’m kicking off the seventh PSL, and I hope every team battles till the last ball and entertains the audience,” PM Imran said to the camera before transforming the screen to PSL green with his index finger.
The PSL shared the same video on Twitter a few hours later, saying, “This is just a taste of what’s to come. Start watching the action on January 27th at 6:30 p.m. with our curtain raiser. Who is coming to the stadium [Kon araha hai stadium]? “
