FIRST LOOK AT THE NEW SUZUKI SWIFT 2022!

The news of Suzuki Swift coming to Pakistan has been making rounds on the internet for quite some time but nobody could say anything for sure… till now! As they say, “seeing is believing”, the recently leaked pictures put all conjectures to rest and we can finally say with certainty that swift 3rd generation is coming to Pakistan. We couldn’t get an official word from the company itself, but as per the unofficial sources, Suzuki Pakistan has set the release date to be somewhere in February 2022. Naturally, people are excited and want to know more about the upcoming product’s features, price, specs, etc. before the booking opens.

So let’s go over some of the speculations that the first look (from the leaked photos last week) has inspired.

EXTERIOR
First things first, let’s talk about the exterior which was clearly out there for us all to see in the pictures.

Looks like the 3rd generation Swift is not just a face-lift of the previous one but a major make-over. The stylish chrome grille, projector headlamps, LED tail-lamps and sporty front look shows that Suzuki is not messing around. Suzuki Pakistan has given the car an upgrade that makes it look modern and high tech at the same time as it is aesthetically pleasing and a treat to watch.

 INTERIOR
There’s no official information yet from Suzuki Pakistan but we have the Global variant of the 3rd gen swift to shed a guiding light for us in this matter. At a glance, the interior seems minimalistic but high-tech with its overall clean design. We can see the silver coat accenting with dark tones for contrast, the TFT display speedometer, and a 10-inch infotainment media screen. The Steering has mounted controls, there’s a silver-coated gearbox, and the center console adds further to the beauty of this car. We can expect most of these in local variants.

ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
Speaking of the engine, the KB12 engine is a 1.2L petrol engine revving almost 1500cc with a maximum output of up to 90HP. The expected fuel average is said to be around 20+ KM/L but can this stay true in cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad? We don’t know, only the launch of Suzuki Swift will give our assumptions some relief.

Even if the first look is not from official sources, it has clearly set expectations. For one, the car loaded onto a carrier has firmly established the fact that the new swift has been in production and will soon be open for booking. Other expectations and speculations about the product stem from what we already know about the 3rd generation swift in the global market. Let’s hope that Suzuki Pakistan meets these expectations and turns out to be the premium hatchback that we hope.

AS FOR THE PRICE…
